However, if you want to do more than sell your junk car, you can donate it to a good cause and reap even more rewards than a few dollars.

If you sell your junk car, chances are you'll only get pennies on the dollar for what it's worth. However, if you donate your car, you can get a tax write-off for the value of the car and you'll help a good cause, as well. Selling a car for salvage is a good idea if your car is highly desirable or hard to get, but for most cars, it's simply not a good idea to sell your junk car. You won't get very much for it and you won't help a good cause, either.
